Bosowa Corporation aspires to the principles that ‘doing well’ is not complete without ‘doing good,’ in which the Company demonstrates its care for the communities. Bosowa Corporation has long carried out sustainable programs in education, health care, relief aids for natural disasters, empowerment of small businesses and development of public infrastructures in the areas where the Company’s business units operate.

The corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs of Bosowa Corporation are undertaken through the Bosowa Foundation, a social foundation engaged in promoting public health, education, empowerment and social charities.

The activities of Bosowa do not end with social causes alone, but also encompasses the conservation of nature and the environment. All of Bosowa’s business activities adhere fully to Amdal requirements. In 2002, Bosowa Maros Cement earned ISO 14000 accreditation in environmental management.

The Bosowa Corporate Foundation undertook a “National Greening’ program by planting one million trees in Bantimurung, Maros Regency. This initiative was later followed by the planting of tree seeds along the Reformasi Toll Road in Makassar in early 2008. Bosowa’s green initiative will be a permanent program annually in order to curb earth carbon emmision, especially in the province of South Sulawesi.
