The Bosowa Group owes its origin to the founding of a trading firm, CV Moneter, on 22nd February 1973 in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The name “Bosowa” comes from the acronym of Bone, Soppeng, and Wajo, three old Bugis kingdoms located at the bay of Bone, the east coast of South Sulawesi (Bone), the highlands of South Sulawesi (Soppeng) , and around danau Tempe, South Sulawesi (Wajo). Founder Mr. HM Aksa Mahmud, provides the foundation for the company to grow into one of the largest business groups emerging from Eastern Indonesia. Guided by the strength and spirit of the seafaring Buginese – intrepid sailors who had reached the shores of Australia and Madagascar on Phinisi – Bosowa was destined to grow into one of Indonesia’s top companies.
