In collaboration with the Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) of Siak Regency, PT Samudera Siak, and PT Bosowa Bandar Indonesia, PT Siak Terminal Indonesia (STI) manages and develops the Tanjung Buton Port facilities in Siak Regency, Riau Province.

In 2019, STI constructed a belt conveyor to optimize the process of unloading palm kernel shells at Tanjung Buton Port. This upgrade was implemented to improve the efficiency of the unloading process compared to the previous manual methods.

STI works closely with palm kernel shell buyers, stevedoring companies, and shipping agencies. Future plans for STI include building a stockpile for palm kernel shells, a dry bulk warehouse, and a CPO storage tank on a 34-hectare area within the port.
